Title: Richardson Co Nebraska
Post by: fountain2 on January 01, 2020, 11:50:48 AM
Anyone familiar with this area of Nebraska?  I have some property through a friend that I can hunt in Richardson county that I can access to turkey hunt.
Just curious about the population there and maybe a good time that.  I see that their season starts in mid/late april and runs to the end of may.
I've never been to Nebraska so I'd like to at least go check it out and see what we can find.  The property sounds like a lot of large field areas, but maybe there would some turkeys somewhere.   Would they be rio or eastern?

I would expect Easterns or maybe a few hybrids.

Yea, that's what I'm figuring too.  Im not too worried about that part.  I'm just looking for a new place to go.  Maybe there will be some birds in that area.  My buddy has never even stepped foot on this land, so he doesn't know much about it.

Look at an Arial, if it has large trees and water it probably has birds on it

The time line I would potentially look at going is the first full week in may. That should be decent timing I believe,  but not 100% as I've never been to Nebraska.
