I've made a few for friends ....snakewood really bites the surface good .. the only thing is that it is very dense and I have to adjust size of the striker top so that's it's not too heavy

I've considered making a 2 piece striker for sale but probably wont do it till I catch up with all my other stuff in a few years

One of, if not the, best strikers I own is a two piece from Mr. Harold. Osage top with a snakewood stem.
