Have an `05 vintage 870 Super Mag SP-T in Mossy Oak Obsession pattern. 23" barrel. Old school thumbhole stock. Red dot for an optic. I`m thinking your 870 is probably more recent. I`ve shot Winchester Long Beard and Hevi-Shot 6`s with it. Equally good patterns with a Jellyhead .660. Just yesterday patterned an 870 Express with camo stocks as a backup gun. Same choke. Patterned nicely.

I think for some reason 870`s and Jellyheads may have been made for each other.

Probably more turkeys killed through the years with 870s and Mossberg 835 Ulti-Mags than everything else put together.

If you look on the guns section of the forum there's pages and pages of info about different guns and choke combos. You could probably find old threads with information on your gun/load. Being that Turkey season is still a ways off, you may not get many answers right now.

I have a long pipe, 28" on my 870 sm... With a Remington super full .665 I'll put 185+ long beard 5s in a 10 inch circle. I was shooting hevi shot but those long beards man... They are head crushers and half the price of hevi shot.

OP I have the same gun. I shoot a jelly head .660 with 3.5" 2oz 5 shot longbeards and average 190 in the 10 at 40 yards lasered. My highest density was 204 with that load and choke but I'm pretty happy with it. I'll try to dig up a picture or two

No sir. 12 gauge. I don't think they make the sps turkey/predator in a 20. And also, anyone talking about a choke opening that measures .660 or .665 is talking 12 gauge.

I like big guns and I can not lie! :z-guntootsmiley:
It helps on those pesky coyotes that come to the call too.

With today's tss loads chokes are no longer the primary factor.  I've shot a lot of tss over the past 5 years and the one thing I've learned, is chokes are good for chasing big numbers but anything from a factory full and beyond is going to kill a turkey far beyond the traditional turkey hunting ranges.  One of my 870 will throw a 280/10" with  2 oz of #9 and a Remington turkey extra full.  That choke measures .687.  No it's not the crazy 350 numbers I can get from other setups but I won't miss at 15 yards either and still I maintain my maximum range.
