Title: Wife put 20ga to the test.
Post by: wisconsinteacher on May 07, 2011, 02:15:30 PM
Well my dad got a 20ga last year after season and had it taken by my wife for her season.  She shot her tom at 35 yards with #7 HeviShot.  At the shot, the tom dropped like a bomb and was very dead.  It wsa the first bird we have used a 20 on and I am sold.  I hope to use it next week.

I should mention that the gun she used was my dad's NEF 20ga Pardner Pump.  I got 156 in 10" @ 40 with it last spring using #7 HeviShot.  The only bad thing about the gun is that the feed ramp that rises when pumped hangs up unless you really work the pump.  If you go slow, the shell does not get high enough to feed into the barrel.
