Title: Att: TN Hunters
Post by: econo on May 07, 2011, 10:11:03 AM
I am heading down to TN. for a week. Will be getting there this evening. Was just wondering if the gobblers are still strutting and gobbling? I am going to cades cove in hopes of getting some good strutting Gobbler pics.
Thanks

I am in Knoxville which is pretty close to cades cove.  I heard 3 gobbling yesterday morning and saw 3 strutters last week.  I haven't seen any toms since but they seem to still be gobbling a little and then shut up not to long after being on the ground and then fire back up around 930 or so.

well im in morgan county and its about the same thing birds will gobble on the roost but when they hit the ground nothing. Id say if u dont know where the turkeys are roostin ud better be ready to hunt all day, same as turkeybow said bout 930   10  is when ive started hearing them fire back up.
