Title: Good day for my Buddy!!
Post by: Crappiepro on May 06, 2011, 11:46:16 AM
Today was a great day! I went with my buddy and called in a good bird for him. This bird fired off at first light and stayed about a 150yrds away. He gobbled everytime I hit the call. I used a Mike Yingling 3in anodized alum pot call to call him all the way in. It took an hour or so to get him in. He came right to the barbed wire fence and couldn't get through it LOL. He just paced back and forth, strutin and a gobblin at the decoys. After a 30 yrd shot my buddies bird hit the ground. This was only the second time in 10 years I called for anyone, most times I hunt alone but it sure was a thrill to call in my buddies 2nd and best bird ever. It weighed in at 24lbs with a 10in beard and had a broken left spur and a 29mm right spur.
