I picked up this Hornstra last week. Pretty piece of desert ironwood with all kinds of figure. The guy I picked it up from said the guy he got it from claimed it had an ivory mp. From the pictures he sent it appeared to be bone. Now that I have it in my hands I'm not sure. It just looks different than my other bone mp's I have from Herb.(https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20190815/4090aa37bb2d5427d3278742ec876c48.jpg)(https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20190815/94be87308db7d46ff31ef4223938074e.jpg)(https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20190815/123d9fde9adc0a0331a6f11d994f06bf.jpg)(https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20190815/626579087580bd274eefc51c01ccdb2f.jpg)

Could be buffalo bone (?) He uses that a lot for MP's.
Still cannot believe he let that go. Beautiful horn.
Beautiful. I love Herb's style.
Very nice,I am on his list and I am sure this has been talked about already but do you run with the slant down or up on the mouth piece or is it personal preference? Thanks
That is my favorite Hornstra so far, awesome looking trumpet.
Great looking trumpet.
Ask him, he will tell you re: materials. Super nice guy
