If you were going to buy a new 12 ga semi-auto turkey gun (set up for turkey only and nothing else) what would you buy?
Benelli SBE, but I'd opt for a pump and get a Remington 870.
A Remington 870 is like a hot rod car nut's Chevy. Everyone makes something cool for it and everyone has tricked them out in ever known way possible.
Turkey and nothing else? I would go with a mossberg 935. I have never owned one but I am new believer in the patterns that the 835 produces. Plus you would need a second morgage! That being said I'm a pump guy. Also I'm not a SBE fan.
Definitely something overbored.
Mossberg 835 or 935. I have an 835 and will be getting a 935. End of story in my opinion. You could pay 1000 to 1500 for some others, but I personally don't think that you get any more capable gun. In fact I think you get a little less turkey gun with the high dollar models(pattern and Mossberg is made in the USA0
SBEII with pistol grip stock and Nikon Monarch scope! :z-guntootsmiley:
Semi Auto turkey only, first choice: 935, secong choice steoger 3500.
Benelli M2 with a steadygrip stock in APG camo. Then I would put an Eotech 512 Holo. scope in APG camo on it and tip it off with an I/C choke. I like 3" shells , but if I was using 3 1/2" shells, it would be the SBE II set up the same.
Semi auto also the Mossberg 935 (have the 835) check the site for your best choke choice and go for it. Put a Mueller on mine so far it is great for my needs. Change chokes and hunt coyotes and or pheasants. Have fun and good luck.
The Moss 935 hands down for the best shooter. If I wanted pure quality and that is all I cared about and price was no object, I would opt for the Win SX3 or Benelli Super Black Eagle II. But the 935 will be more than you need. And you can buy one for around $450.

[/quote^ That, but with a Pure Gold.
Strictly for best pattern, Mossberg 935.
For best quality overall, Benelli SBE 2.
I'm currently shooting a Benelli SBE 2 and Mossberg 835 as well.

I don't know enough about mossbergs current offerings to say anything one way or the other about them.
I do know I like Beretta semi autos, and am looking to get myself an Xtrema 2 for "heavy duty" use.
The beretta semi- autos fit me the best, and have a good track record.

Mossberg 935
I would buy the Mossberg 935 or the Remington 11-87. I do not shoot 3.5" shells but the overbore of the 935 will produce great patterns and there is not tougher auto than an 11-87. I am a pump guy and have an 835 and an 870.
Super Vinci
Watching the m3500 Stoeger to see how the reviews are.. They make one in a 24" I believe hands down I would prefer a benelli in auto..but dont want to spend that much for a turkey gun when I have a cabinet full..I would use the Benelli for waterfowl. Separate entities around here. I keep my shotguns set up for the sport. I have 11-87's and 935..so whats the scoop on the 3.5" Stoeger..other than she is a bit heavy.
Super Vinci or Beretta A400 :)
I wouldn't accept any Mossturd product for free, and I have turned down more than one for free....
On the cheap? BPS or 870 SM.
In the middle? Browning Silver or Win SX3.

Next free one you come upon send me a message and I will be glad to take it off your hands. :)
If you get offered two I will take one! I was a long time anti-mossberg guy... I have all kinds of Remingtons and Winchesters in my safes. I got my first Mossberg on purpose this year(I have won a couple and let them go.) The over-bored Mossbergs are really tough to beat on the pattern board or in the turkey woods. Also the 500 action (what all mossy pumps are based on) won the military contract and was the only one completed there tests. One of which was 3500 rounds of full power buck! Don't get me wrong I wouldn't part with my Wingmasters for anything!
I just picked up an 835 from a buddy of mine and all I can say is I wished I had bought one years ago! It's a great gun, and she throws some wicked patterns!
Very pleased with my new slayer!
I'd get an 870 with a shurshot. I already have an 1187 SM shurshot. Once I've had a shurshot, I'll never go back to a standard stock. Although I may try a knoxx for my boys gun b/c I can adjust it for me and him. That shurshot makes off handed shots common for turkey hunters much steadier.

I'm almost to that point mudhen. I have two 835's that throw freakish patterns, but I don't like carrying them, shooting them, or looking at them. To each his own.
I have the B guns but not hung up on them. They are in my opinion over priced especially if looking for a turkey gun only. I have Benelli Legacy, franchi o/u, have had beretta's and I like my Mossy 935 a lot. So if you guys have free Mossy's offered let me know, I can make room for guns that don't start with a B.
I love everything about my gun expect that it doesnt handle 3 1/2's so Id just get the same thing just chambered for 3.5's
870, sureshot stock (although knoxx do look sweet), fastfire II
Man this thread is like waving a juicy bone in front of a dogs nose. (http://www.texas4x4.org/images/smilies/new_silly.gif)
All I'm gonna say is that I know what gun or guns it wouldn't be. :goofball: :TooFunny:
Remington 870. I've had mine for several years now and have no complaints. You can customize them to meet your specific needs/preferences. The options are (almost) limitless.

Mossberg 935 if i had to buy an auto, with a kicks .670 gobblin thunder or a pure gold. I love my 835 and see no point in getting rid of it or using any other gun. I would shoot it everyday if I lived in the country.

Mossberg 935 hands down
