Venom has differnt dot size options,  and a little bigger than viper. Viper was really designed for pistol mount . Both use a CR 1632 battery. Most mini red dot use CR 2032.

The main differences are the MOA of the dot and the Venom has a top loading battery, while the Viper is bottom loading, meaning you will have to unmount the sight to change the battery.

That said, I have had a Venom for 3 years and hadn't changed the battery yet?

The Venom also has the same footprint as a Burris, so mounting options will be more.
