He is home from the hospital with terminal cancer.....
He is receiving Hospice care at present...

Really hate to hear, but he knows the Lord and His family can take comfort in that. I have always enjoyed speaking with him.

This really saddens me. Mr Harold was one of the best. Been using his strikers for about 25yrs..

This is a post I`ve been dreading, but appreciate the info. I had the privilege and pleasure of getting to know Mr. Harold first via phone conversations and then in person at Unicoi this year. He has the unique ability to not only make one feel that you are a friend but also that you`ve been friends for years, even though that`s not the case. when we talked at Unicoi, he made me feel like I was the only person in that room. I just regret that I`ve not had the opportunity to know him longer than I have.
Not that it`s important in the grand scheme of things, but I`m personally happy that the one bird I harvested this season was with a snakewood striker that he turned for me.

Very sad to hear about this. I met Mr. Fowler at unicoi this year and bought a couple strikers off of him, really nice guy.

Prayers to Derek and the family,. I know Mr Harold well and he is at peace. Many years I have used his magic strikers. I hope to continue that for a while yet. I think of this fine man every time I run a pot call for a Gobbler.

I've never met nor spoke to Mr. Fowler personally but I have enjoyed using his strikers for a few years now. I hate to hear the bad news about his health but am comforted by hearing that he is a man of faith. God bless you Mr. Harold! Prayers for you and your family.

I never met Mr. Fowler but corresponded via email and danced with a longbeard yesterday morning with a couple of his strikers.
I hope someone on the forum can get a copy of this thread to Mr. Fowler and his family. A true testament to him as a person and fellow turkey hunter.
