This 3 year old bird came off of a heavily hammered WMA. I believe that mature public land turkeys just taste sweeter. I've said it many times before, and I'll say it again. I Love This Magnificent Sport!

Hey guys congrats to everyone so far. Just wanted to let everyone know that I'm not being a deadbeat I just won't be hunting until I get out to Kansas on the weekend of the 19th of May.....Hopefully I'll be posting a pick of a bird soon.
good luck
wish I was with you
Some of these pics didn't come out the best, but I was in a hurry, but hopefully they will suffice. The tape was not lined up right on the spurs, but I have compensated the difference in my lengths before entering them.

njdevilsb,
Congrats on the birds. It's been a pretty tough season so far here in NY. The gobblers are henned up bad and there aren't too many people around my neck of the woods that are killing them. I've had a couple of close calls and passed up some jakes but am still working on punching tag #1...
Hopefully you get a couple of good ones. They are henned up bad up here, I'm hunting just outside of Watertown, NY. The first one I got probably only came in because the 2 hens and jakes were up close to us. The hen called all of the birds out of the woods for us, we just sat and enjoyed the show mostly.
When I got #2, we had 5 toms with a group of hens that wouldn't come close at all, but they'd gobble their heads off. After they all disappeared, one came back out with one hen strutting and gobbling, but he wouldn't leave her. Eventually our persistence paid off and he came in on a string, with her in tow after about another hour. It was almost 10 when I pulled the trigger.
My dad got his last one this morning, but he was with his one hen, and joined 2 others that I believe are nesting. He barely paid any attention to us, but we used the country to stalk him and my dad got him. He never made a sound, but he didn't need to because he had all he needed already in the field with him.
