Had a less than good season in my home state of MS this year. Hunted hard and only worked 2 birds and killed one of them. Piled up in my truck last night and drove up here trying to get my fix to hold me over until next year. Never have really went on a out of state hunt. Spur of the moment got on the phone and started calling outfitters. Found one, put in for 3 vacation days and took off. I usually plan well in advance on things but not on this. Arrived and its raining and really cool. Weather suppose to break so I start in the AM. Wish me luck guys.
Good luck man!! Make the best of it!! :icon_thumright:
Good luck sp. & dr.
Yeah ms sucked for me this yearvalso
My home
Good luck Missouri has always been a good state for me
Had a good year in SE/Mo, lots and lots of hunters. Managed to fill both tags though.
Out of State hunts are GREAT! They help extend the season and gives you added incentive to get after ole 3 toes. Don't put a lot of pressure on yourself to kill. Enjoy the experience, new friends you meet and the NEW scenery. Missouri's weather will be different from Mississippi, probably not as much greenery yet and as you said cooler. Have a GREAT time, Get After Them hard and Good things will happen. Good Luck and May God Bless you with a GREAT time. And maybe a bird or two! Bottom Line have FUN!!!!!
Thanks guys!
Good luck! Hope you get your fix. I'll be leaving headed to NE in about 10 days to get my mid May fix.
Good luck, I've always wanted to give Missouri a try.
Been in no Missouri for a couple days now. Didn't get out yesterday because of rain. Been playing with a smart ole Tom when I can get out. Had to leave him each time because of the 1 pm closing. Dang it hate to leave a fired up bird
Good luck and be safe out there!
Keep us posted brother

Mid-70`s, stationed at Ft. Leonard Wood. The place was crawling with turkeys, first time I ever hunted them, so I didn`t do so well but learned to love the birds and the woods. So many quail that they almost qualified as pests ( did do well with them ! ) !
Good luck in missouri
Best of luck

I hope you get your fix. I haven't had a really great season either so I know how you are feeling. Best of luck to ya
Good luck, hope you're not in southeast MO. Birds are thin and quiet. I've heard better reports from other parts of MO. Hope you get to haul a few back to Mississippi.
Good luck

Im in northwest MO. A guy and his wife been hunting 3 days. They leaving tomorrow. They have heard 8 to 10 birds a day all the way till the 1 pm closing time. Been cold and wet. They have bumped birds because they are trying to get tight on them and the woods are kind of open.
Appreciate all the support guys. I need it.
Good luck! Just got back Monday from 3 days in northern Missouri. Tougher hunting than I expected. I was able connect on one at 12:50 Saturday after we struck two gobbling at 11. My buddy got one that came in silent the next morning.
Missouri was good to me this year. Hope your trip is as good as mine.
Was just up in NW MO last week dropping off a bird at a particularly special location to have mounted. Lot of the northern portion of the state didn't have birds until I got almost all the way up there, then all the sudden there were turkeys everywhere.
If you extend your trip through the weekend and need some public ground with birds, just give me a ring and I'll get you fixed up.
Don't understand States that cut you off at 1pm. Can't wrap my head around the reasoning. I've had some GREAT hunts in some of my travel States at 3-5pm. Hunt Hard S and D!
good luck
Best of luck!!! Hope you have a good trip...
Go get 'em Jody!
Waiting on pics!
Well N West MO was good to me. Set up this morning on 2 good gobbling birds. Heard 8 but the others were a pretty good ways off. Pulled the trigger on a hog. He weighed 25 pounds , 11-1/2 inch beard and 1-1/4" hooks. Shot him at 11:45. My heaviest bird to date. Half way back home and in a hotel room now. Will post some pics when I get home. Thanks guys for wishing me all that luck. I will end2019 with2 birds. I usually end up with 5 or 6 but this year was bad. I cant complain though. Thankful I have the health and means to Be out there hunting them.
Glad you had a good hunt. Some years it seems like everything works your way and some years not so much. I'd rather have two hard won Gobblers than 10 that run to the call
Good job. Congrats on a nice gobbler
