Today I got my second bird in my home state of Iowa, so now I start the long wait until next spring. Maybe I can manage a trip to Wisconsin next year, but it's hard with little ones.
I had 2 jakes in my decoys at 7, I thought long and hard about taking one, but decided to let them walk. Sporadic gobbling which seemed to be on the neighbor property. Lots of lone hens walking around, one of which stayed in my decoys for about 30 minutes before she decided to walk off. Finally about 9:30 I had some toms sound off close and was able to call them in.
20.41 lbs, 9" beard, spurs 1 3/16" and 1 1/4"(https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20190426/844e5f4eb2c794942ea9256bba3ca913.jpg)(https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20190426/503464edc2568980163951b8898776f9.jpg)(https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20190426/b10d66d712d716d979075d675ff1acb5.jpg)

Sounds like a great hunt. Aren't you glad you passed on the Jakes?
