Title: Nebraska hunting
Post by: sundevil180 on April 24, 2019, 09:04:02 AM
Haven't seen much on how things have been in Nebraska with all the flooding and crazy spring weather.

Hows the hunting up that way?

Northcentral part mostly but am planning a nice road trip to hit different areas here in about a week.

I have a buddy that has shot a couple birds in the last couple weeks off the Niobrara River in western Cherry County.  I don't know how birds are responding or how they are acting right now up there, he just sent me pictures of birds is all.  I am heading to the Crawford area in the Pine Ridge Saturday to hunt some private ground I have and I'll report back after.  I've been hunting in the North Platte River valley in the panhandle so far this season and birds have been responding well to calls and birds are finally breaking up from winter flocks.

Good luck!

I heard they were still pretty flocked up last week and all the late snow has to have messed with their pea-sized brains a bit.

Just got back from NE. Birds are splitting up. Wife and I both got our merriams. Hers was alone but mine had hens.
