x2
I use the same one... first thing I do after getting out of the truck and leave it there till noon.
Well that's what I needed to hear, I'm going to order one right now
Thanks for the post, I was wondering about them for next year myself. May get the thing that helps hold them on your shoulder at the same time.
I use the Knight and Hale Hands Free System. Works really good. Used the H S Strut last year, works too , but I like the K&H system better. The Universal Hands Free, not the Hands Free vest.
Have the same one for years. The Hunters Specialty. Works great.
Have a good one

I think I have this? It's a should strap you put gun butt in and a knee holder. I use shoulder strap and a trigger stick. UPDATED - mine is a Knights Hunting products (not knight and hale) universal. comes with shoulder strap and knee rest. I used shoulder strap with a trigger stick. works great. i can call on a pot or trumpet and gun is ready to go at all times.

I've used the HS Strut knee thing for years. But I've got a bad shoulder injury now, so this year I tried out the HS V-Pod. It's a shooting stick with a bipod base that mounts to your barrel. It collapses and clips to your barrel when not in use. It also comes with a shoulder strap that holds the gun in place on your shoulder. It comes with the hardware for both 12 and 20 gauge.
It's been very helpful this season due to my shoulder. I love the strap that holds the stock in place on my shoulder. Although I just put the corner of the butt in the strap, in case I have to lift it out and switch shoulders if the gobbler comes in from the wrong side.

I've had the same HS Strut Knee Pad for about 15 years now. That thing has came in handy more often than not.
Glad this came up. I have looked at these for awhile now and never got one. I didn't know if it would be tall enough for me or not. I told myself I was going to try to make one after season this year. I am too lazy to pack my trigger stick bipod so I usually cut me a Y stick when I get to the woods. May have to get one to try thanks
I use the Hunters Specialty one- Its alright however if I have to move quickly it slides down my leg to my boot. I wish it had a little deeper V cut in to hold the gun.
I have used the Hunters specialties one for years. It works Great!

Yep, that's the one. Works well, I think.
X10 on the HS Strut Knee Rest. On my second one - I don't go to the turkey woods without it!
Well I ordered one of the HS Strut ones yesterday off of eBay and it came today! So I'm going to try it out tomorrow morning
I bummed the cheap one off a buddy this year. Works great. He has a setup from knight hunting products. I will be ordering that setup before next season. It has a shoulder strap setup and a different knee pad.

That's the one I have ( Universal Hands Free ) . More expensive ( $50 ) but works real good IMO. The shoulder strap makes it hands free. If you do any sitting at all for any length of time, IMO something to rest the gun on is essential equipment.
Allen gun rest sling is really neat, I have one I put on for my wife or youth hunters. Think Amazon has them

I have the Knight's Hunting Products knee rest. It is very well made and there was a lot of thought in the design. I went with just the knee mount as I did not think I would use the shoulder mounts strap. Definitely worth the money.
Been using the hs strut one for several years. Works great.
HS strut here. Light and easy. Simple and effective.

You talking about the one that has the shooting sticks concealed within the sling? I've wondered about them, but couldn't decide to try one. I feel like for me it would be too much added weight, and too difficult to get deployed in the heat of the moment. I understand more for the type hunters you mentioned.

It adds some weight but it's also the sling itself so instead of something else to carry it still operate as a way to carry your gun. My issue is sticks get in the way 99.8% of the time until you want them then they aren't in place. I can reach down and pull the rest portion into place between my leg and gun forearm whenever I want.
I don't bother with it for myself but everyone I given a gun too with it on has liked it. I guided a wounded vet hunt a few years back and had a guy in his 70's who brought a giant long barrel 12 but couldn't hold it up. I set him up with the Allen sling on my wife's 20ga and he raved about it. I sent it home with him and grabbed another.

I haven't seen a real need for one. I normally just loop the gunsling over the outside of my knee and let the gun ride to the inside.
I have gotten to a point where I do not want to deal with a gun resting on my knee... Or walking around with a giant knee-pad or pillow.
Past couple years, I just pull up and shoot (or have the gun resting across a log or rock pointing towards the general direct I think a bird will come). It will probably bite me in the butt, but so far, most birds have given me an instant with their head up as I mount the gun, before the trigger is pulled.

HS strut knee strap has come with me for 20 + years whenever I am cruzin the woods. Works for me!
I use the hunter specialties as well. I have used the same one for close to 15yrs. I do not go out without it around my leg. I dont always need it but its always there.
