Havent seen much on Oklahoma this year. Headed there next week. Any updates on gobbling or if still seeing big flocks?
Not looking for specific locations. Just overall observations.
Thanks.
They're killing birds, but the weather has been terrible!
Have a good one

I hunted private land south of Black Kettle over the weekend. We killed a couple but it was odd. Basically no gobbling after fly down. Heard one daytime gobble in two days-besides roosted birds. Not the most exciting trip I've made out there. Turkey numbers seemed way down. Landowner said he figured birds numbers were maybe half what they were in Beckham County compared to a decade ago. Didn't see many while driving around and we usually do.
Thanks for the replies. Keep any other comments coming.

This is the same experiences we had just north of you last week. I killed my 2 gobblers but it was by far the toughest hunting in that area. Saw a ton of hens but the gobblers just weren't there in numbers like in the past.
I live in northwest Oklahoma and our bird pop. is down considerably in the last 5 or 6 years or more. We still have pockets of good hunting, but many places you could find birds a few years ago have none now. I would guess our area peaked around 2005 or so.
