Title: Nitro TSS -vs- Federal Tss 20ga #9
Post by: goindeep on April 17, 2019, 04:55:38 PM
Looking for opinions and or facts from guys that have shot both. I have shot Nitros for years and they have never let me down, but the convenience of the Federal has me intrigued.

I too have shot Nitro's in 10 gauge, 12 gauge and 20 gauge. They never let me down.  I love them.
With that being said I have new found faith in factory loaded TSS. It's amazing stuff.
I also plan on getting some hand loads in TSS.

Have a good one

I tested Nitro 8x9 and Federal TSS #9 out of my Mossberg SA20 and the nitros win hands down every time. 330+ with nitro 10" circle at 40. All I can get is around 260-280 with federal. Still a good pattern for the money but not really comparable. .562 IC has been the best with Nitros so far. .555 was too tight.

I have not shot Nitro's, but have shot the others and the federals are by far easier to get your hands on. That helped me with my decision one what to use.
