Columbus. Watched a total of 3 different Tom's this morning. Will be taking my 13 yr old daughter out with me so hopefully she will get a shot and take her second this year. Maybe after that, I might get a shot at one. Good luck everyone

Craven county, hunting in Jones county.  Been scouting the last 3 weeks.  Seeing birds but they aren't as vocal as in years past.  Hope the rain holds off but I've got a backup plan if it doesn't.  Good Luck to you guys in NC and other states that are opening tomorrow as well.

God Blessed me with a bird at 710 this morning.  He gobbled at 7 from about 300 yards away and took a dirt nap at 710.  2 year old, about 19 lbs, 10 1/4 inch beard and 1 inch spurs.  Only gobbled 3 times on his way.  I gave him 1 series of yelps with the Hooks Executioner diaphragm and I never made another sound until I stopped him for the shot.  Hope the Rest of you NC guys had a GREAT day.

I was in Halifax and Warren yesterday. Got caught in a downpour and got drenched. Saw a few turkeys but didn't get the chance to shoot one. Maybe in a couple days.

Drove 2 hours yesterday to meet my buddy in McDowell Co.; we did the 1, 2, 3 countdown on these toms that ran 200 yards across the field to us.
Will be hunting Hoke, Anson, and Rowan in the next 2 weeks.

Tell that feller to your left to quit mean-muggin.  Someone might think he's not excited about his upcoming nuptials... :)

That is some fine looking hooks. If I ever kill one with spurs like that, he is going to the taxidermist.

I have a buddy that I mentored, call me this morning all excited about killing his second NC gobbler, on his own (his first was last spring).  Bird came in to the call right after fly down.  Gobbled at 20 yards right before he died.  Can you say HOOKED!

After almost two weeks and some Great hunts, Number 2 went down this morning.  On my way back to the truck, my hunting buddy called me and said he was watching 2 longbeards, through his binos, right where I parked my truck.  I worked my way to my truck slowly and at about 100 yards, I stopped and called 1 time.  In 2 minutes, I had given one a dirt nap.  Season complete.  Love this stuff!  Good Luck to All.  Be Safe and Get After Them Guys.
