Title: Nitro vs. Hevi FPS
Post by: Turkasaurus on May 01, 2011, 11:00:35 AM
Has anybody shot the 2 1/4oz loads of Nitros and Hevi's through their Chronos for comparison? Nitro lists the 510load which is 2 1/4oz of hevishot at 1240fps while the Hevi-13 with the same 2 1/4ozs are going 1090fps or so it says on the box. What are the real numbers and what is your barrel length?

The last H13 2.25oz #7 (new lot) that I shot thru chrono was 1141 fps. That was out of 870SM 23" barrel probably about 5' from muzzle.

Ive shot several types of  Nitro 10 gauges  , and the fps is dead on the money from what they advertise -

I have also shot the magnum blend ,h13 and nitro loads at all kinds hard plywood backing and can tell you the EM magnum Blend , and Nitros penetrate much deeper into plywood  than the h13's I have shot -
