BE SAFE guys....there are some serious dummies out there these days ....take extra precautions,
even if the most dangerous part of Turkey hunting is the drive there...be safe doing that too
Shannon
Thanks appreciate it. You be safe too.
Thanks, you too bud.
Same to you all
Lots of newbies out there hunting. I helped woith a Seminar through Fish and Game and NWTF on Saturday, interest level was high. Knowledge level was surprisingly low. Good people but no experience. That's where we come in, please help people that need it. You don't need to show them your spots. Talk to them, scout their areas with them and hands on is worth 1000 books. Be safe by making them smarter. Sermon is over :funnyturkey: Al Baker
Thanks Shannon. Good luck to you and have a safe spring.
Thanks and to all have a successful and safe season

Great reminder. Take it from someone who knows....getting shot is a horrible end to your season and maybe your life. Every turkey in the world isn't worth one injury.
Thanks, good advice! As in driving, watch out for the OTHER guy. Hunt defensively. :OGturkeyhead:

^ This! I had to chew my buddy's @$$ last year, he sent me a pic of his son with his first bird but his son was wearing a camo hat with ol' glory on it! I told him I appreciate his patriotism but that hat could get him killed...It took him a few minutes but he figured it out, said he didn't even think about that...
I'm taking a brand new (adult) hunter out this year that I've never hunted with and I'm a bit nervous. Never sure how things are going to go until you see them handle a gun.
Few years ago a friend on mines two sons went out together hunting, big brother taking little brother out for his first turkey hunt. Big brother left the little brother leaning against the tree as they were having no luck and he was going to scout ahead for birds. The little brother was sitting against the tree and all of a sudden heard something coming in thought it was a turkey and shot his older brother in the chest, neck and face. Knowing the injuries the brother had and the location they were hunting it is a miracle he is still alive. The biggest reason he lived is he had a cell phone on him, something he got in trouble for in the church later because they are Mennonites and are not allowed to have them.
South TX..neighbor to my east had new owners to his south. Second time he has caught them trespassing. First time, TPWD wrote them tickets. This time, jail and forfeiture of guns and Polaris. Some people never learn.
