Post by: 10gaugemag on March 30, 2019, 04:36:37 PM
Looking for a Hastings .675 to fit my Invector threaded Browning 10 gauge.

Let me know what you have.

I run 2 different 10 gauges and a .675 would be the tightest constriction I have ever heard of. Most people are running .695 - .720. What shell you planning on shooting?

Older Federal High Energy, 2 ounce #5.

Have shot these in a .695 Hastings and a XX Comp n Choke, terrible 40 yard patterns with the 2 oz. #5 loads.

#4 whether 2 or 2 1/4 ounce loads shoot quite a bit better.

This is really interesting. I use Hastings .705" in my Browning BPS and Ithaca Mag 10 w/ Rem choke barrel. I also have .700'' and .695" Hastings for each. I shoot either the old Win XX 2 1/4oz. #4 or #5 (have a case) or Federal premium 2 1/4oz. #4 (down to my last box). If you find that .675" please post your results. That is tight for a 10ga.

Seems tight until you look at all of the .675 chokes for the 835/935 guns.

Yes, probably too tight for full payload #4 ammo but should be pretty good with the 2 oz smaller shot like #5s.

I have quite a few boxes of those 2 1/4 oz Federal #4s, never even shot any. Always had excellent luck in my BPS with Winchesters and Remington #4s. Remingtons were always best in regular full choke.

Still looking for that .675 Hastings. Would even try something in the .680 range too.
