Ever felt like you had a force field that kept the turkeys just out of range? :TooFunny: :TooFunny:

Nah, I have the uncanny ability of always choosing the spot that they are not at.

Lately I'm having just the opposite problem. Went yesterday afternoon, windy as heck. I just decided to set up on a ridge and do some soft calling. After about 45 min, I yelped on my slate and he cut me off 20 ft behind a hump of dirt (the only obstacle in front of me. He stuck his head up over it and saw me shouldering my gun. Took off running and I shot behind him at 20-25 ft.
It gets better.....he started gobbling about 15 min later so I set up in another spot. Sounded like he was going away so I moved toward him. When I sat down, i could hear drumming behind me. Again, 20 ft away, spooked, started running, and again.....missed.

I blame it on the turkeys in my area now owning Hex suits.
