I got to hunt last night and right before fly up, I spotted this tom and a hen in a field. Knowing the weather was going to be bad the rest of my season, I got aggressive and went after the bird. I knew where he was going so I cut him off. I came up over the hill the same time he did, but he did not make it with the load of Hevi Shot that hit him. 22.84 lbs, 8.5" beard, and 3/4" spurs. I got lucky, but had to try something to change my luck. He is very light in color. Kind of a cool looking bird. I might try doing something with the wings and fan but I don't have any ideas yet.

The 12ga is locked up for the year. Next season for me is the 20 and if I get one, the last season will be the 16. If I could do that, then next year I would have to buy a 10 ga!!!

Nice bird. I can sympathize with the crappy weather. I have hunted the 2nd and 3rd season in west central WI and come up empty handed both seasons. What part of the state are you hunting?

Beautiful bird. I chased a similar bronze bird for three Springs a few years back and was not able to get him. I'm glad you did. Sometimes you just have to make it happen. I'm glad you were successful.
