Title: Bad news
Post by: CB on the run on April 30, 2011, 07:42:45 AM
At 7:10am this morning the co-owner of my property called basically stating "we're screwed".  We own a 20 acre parcel that leads into 700+ acres of timber company property where we do 95% of our turkey hunting both, spring and fall.  Sometime between yesterday morning and today it was posted solid by a hunting club lease.  tomorrow is opening day here in NY.  We heard rumors that the company was trying to lease their properties after a huge loss last year.  As a surrounding landowner we reached out to verify this and never received a call back.  I'm scrambling less than 24 hours before the opener and I have to go into work today.  I have no other birds scouted and didn't want to be part of the public land possee' especially on a weekend day opener.
