Not a dicks sporting goods fan but I just read that they are going to be getting rid of most stuff related to hunting. May be able to find good deals soon for all that are interested.

Guess their gun controversy put a hurting on their hunting sales.
The article that I read even said that they don't know if they'll be getting rid of their Field & stream stores in the future. Said they will be replacing the hunting section with batting cages and other sports gear

I wouldn't shop there even for great deals. They are anti hunting/ anti 2 A. I vowed to never spend another dime at their stores when they stopped selling ar's and refused to sell long guns to anyone under 21 even though the law is 18. They are getting rid of all their hunting stuff because they are against it and trying to appeal to suburban soccer moms.
I hope all their stores go out of business within a year or 2. They are appropriately named dicks, that's what they are.
Guess the market isn't there for them. Irrelevant to their political beliefs, the emphasis will be where the most revenue can be generated.

I agree. I haven't bought anything off them in a very long time since the same reason you just stated. The only people I feel bad for their employees. I know that in some areas like where I was from in New York it is very real and a lot of people were counting on them for employment

Won't have anything to do with them, let them pay to house all their old stuff, don't help them in any way.
I agree, It's a bad situation when people depend on them for employment. In a smaller town they might be the best opportunity for a job, it's unfortunate the company is so lost.
We had a dicks in my hometown but it closed up after a few years, guess they didn't do to well in an area that's predominately hunters and country folks.
Dicks is good for selling yoga pants and Nike shoes....no thanks.
They won't get a dime of my money

One of my closest friends works at the Dick's corporate headquarters. When I saw this thread I shot him a text asking when I could start scoring some deals on gear. His reply, "It's only being phased out of poor performing stores, not completely removing it and not any time soon. And not the stores near you." Son of a!
I once interviewed with them for a part time post retirement job. Remember I had 31 years in the DNR. When the interviewers came in the room and was two 20 something millennials that didn't know a shotgun from a rifle and was wearing all jogging nike gear I knew I was in trouble. Another middle aged woman was also interviewing and she had tons of corporate experience. We walked out together and she said you know we're not getting jobs and I said yes I know. They hired two teeny bopper girls still in college who answered most questions with giggles. I was done right there. They left the true outdoorsman years ago. Their founder would be appalled as he started with a bait shop

This right here ^^
Don't care what kind of deals they have , I wont spend a dime in any of there stores. They could go bankrupt for all I care.
Last night Fox news reported that Dick's will stop selling guns in 125 of their stores.

Exactly , they can keep their junk. Let it rot in the warehouses.
I would quit buying from them, but I never started.
I won't and don't shop at Dick's. Two years ago when they raised their gun age to 21 from 18, our local Dick's had a young man working in sporting goods that was 20 years old. He was able to sell guns to patrons but couldn't buy them. He quit the company and started working at a local gun shop just down the road from Dick's. Hope they go BELLY up!
I've got a local field and steam and I always make them my last option when shopping. Sucks cause I really like the store.

I hated them before the AR and 21 year thing. Didn't feel right in there.
I dont like Dicks.
I quit going in there after there initial thing with the ARs. Anyway, it seemed to me to be another place for Eddie Bauer type stuff.

I agree completely. I can't understand how anyone who hunts or is a 2nd Amendment supporter could buy from someone who knowingly has those beliefs. They'll get no dollars of mine.

EXACTLY what I'd have posted had 'Yote not beaten me to it.
I didn't shop with them before the AR/21 thing and I certainly would not start now. I really hope they file chapter 11 in the next year or so, that's exactly what they deserve!

I hope they go out of business, and I'm pretty confident they'll be Sears in less than 15 years. Not even an option for me with Scheels in town.

Same here.We had a store open up here where I live right after their AR15 policy went into effect. I went into the store a week after they opened just to see what junk they sell. I left empty handed, and haven't been back since.

Forty some years ago, Eddie Bauer sold a ton of good hunting stuff. I still have a goose down sleeping bag that is as comfortable and warm as when new. Now it is exclusively for left wing snowflakes.
Thanks to the liberal agenda, the head nuts at Dicks apparently have no nuts and certainly are a bunch of appropriately named folks. I wouldn't buy from them just for carrying Nike alone, much less the knee jerk reaction of banning sales of AR style rifles and to deny sales to legal citizens under 21. They have dug their own grave. We gotta stick together guys&gals and not let these clowns in our towns!!
What comes first the chicken or the egg. Their senior leadership craps on hunters then used poor performing stores as an excuse to remove hunting gear. Its a calculated decision based on ideology
Dick's Sporting Goods is the Enemy.
No hunter should ever spend a cent with them again, clearance deals or not. The CEO is a gun hater. Dick's actually hired an anti-gun DC lobbying firm. Do i need to go on?
I cant wait for them to go bankrupt!
We can only hope that enough sportsmen stick together and spread the word to see their Field & Stream stores go under .............

Good. I hope they end up broke. Serves them right. Employee's will find a different competent minimum wage job...
Awful lot of talk about Dicks in this thread.
