He's a small one. Will only score out at 42, so he's no help at all for the team. Only longbeard I saw in 2 1/2 days of hunting! Could have shot 3 different jakes, but I let them all walk. Lots of hens, a few jakes, but only that 1 longbeard seen, and he was with 17 hens with no other jakes or longbeards! Hope I didn't kill off the turkey population out there by killing that one and only tom! Made for some lucky jakes I guess! I came back a day early due to the weather out there and for the fact that I put on many many miles looking for other longbeards and didn't see any! Saturday morning I came back due to 30 to 40 mile an hour winds with gusts forecast for up to 70, low 30's temps, and sideways snow where you couldn't see for over 300 yards or so. Blizzard warnings in ND just a few miles north of where I was hunting at. It is May today right? On a side note, that tail wind really pushed my gas milage coming home way up!
I leave for WI. this coming Wednesday so maybe I can get an Eastern that might help out the team.
