Got a bird roosted tonight about 70yds off the end of a field on my parents farm. I'm planning on videoing my brother in the morning as I'm tagged out. I'm debating on putting some decoys in the field but they've been working the opposite direction most of the season when roosted in this area. I hope the bird is alone well see. Any advice guys. Just cannot decide between field set-up or loop around to where they've been headed.
get in there extremely early and get in the direction they normally travel. if they get onto the field, you are still in business..
when I say early I mean at least an hour before gobble time....
if you can shoot him out of the tree! just kidding i agree with the last post get in there really early. do some tree yelps when he starts to gobble. get in the same direction they have been going and you got half the battle won! good luck.
