Went out and sighted in my new Franchi Affinity 3 20ga today. Shot several varieties of shells, but the gun ended up loving the Apex GT 20 9's. Only had one choke to test (Carlson's .575 extended). Pic of 40yd pattern attached.
very nice
Hammer time! :OGturkeyhead:
Yes sir! :fud: :OGani:
thanks for posting this. I also have a franchi affinity was was curious if the carlson 575 would pattern well. Looks like I'll try it before buying chokes.
It worked well with Federal TSS, but really liked the Apex shells. I may try a different choke at some point, but I'm happy for now.
good looking pattern
Thanks!

X2......have yet to try put mine on paper but shooting GT20s also and your pic has me fired up. Thanks for posting!
Thank you.....my inspiration for putting together this combo came from what I saw posted on this site by others! Don't know what I'd do without hunting and fishing forums these days!
I think you found the right combo so save your

. Good luck with it!

What numbers were you getting with the feds?
I didn't count the Feds, but the pattern was still a good one. Not as tight, maybe low to mid 200's.
That's a killer pattern
I have a std Affinity 20 compact & I've tried multiple chokes in it, keep going back to the Carlson's .575.
I hope to be seeing next week what my Affinity will look like. Shooting Federal 9's and RR 570
That combo should work well!
Any of you guys experience any issue with the affinity cycling the feds properly? My dad and my buddy just picked up new affinities and neither one will pick the feds up out of the mag tube and into the chamber. Whether it be during cycling by hand or following a shot. The only way to get them to feed into the chamber from the magazine is by putting a little pressure against the carrier to make it lift the shell up to the chamber. They both was able to grab some apex and they work fine. The feds are slightly longer than the apex is the only difference we can see. That difference is felt when loading also. The federals have to be kind of wiggled a little to get it to go into the chamber but the apex slips right in.
I only ran about 20 or so shells through mine and I didn't have any issues. I have heard that the gun doesn't like longer shells though. I don't know if any of the 3" shells are slightly longer than others or not. I was told to trim a little off the hull when reloading to prevent any feeding issues.
