Title: Needing help to get back in game
Post by: old soul on March 03, 2019, 03:42:40 PM
Getting back into Turkey hunting after many years. But need some help. Some of the places that I plan to hunt in my home state ( Missouri ) requires non toxic shells. I know they have all types for modern guns. But I plan on using my 16 ga shotguns ( newist one 50yrs old ) that have full chokes. Need to find loads that wont damage the barrels.
Any Ideas ??

Cabela's has Kent bismuth in 16 gauge, 5 shot. Pricey, but should work.

Another good choice would be the Kent Tungsten Matrix if you can find them; closer to lead in density, and comes in 1 1/16 oz loads of #5 shot. At one time they even came in a 1 1/4 oz load.  I think the 16 gauge Classic Doubles only comes in a 1 oz load of #4 shot.  There are many more options for 16 gauge if you reload.
