Title: Saddle mounts
Post by: twyatt on February 28, 2019, 08:15:50 PM
Is there a solid, reliable saddle mount for an 870 20ga?

I used the weaver one that is made out of plastic.  It held up fine and maintained poa/poi with my Fastfire.  But, I don't like the way it looked so I drilled and tapped my 870 myself and am much happier.

I don't necessarily mind the looks as much as I don't have a local gunsmith I trust, nor do I want to do it myself.   Not sure that leaves me many options though other than a saddle mount.  I just want to be sure there aren't some major cons to them that I wasn't aware of.
