I recently purchased a couple of Buster's friction calls ....They came highly recommended from a couple folks on here.
Hunter22 being one of them...If "Mr. Friction" puts his stamp of approval on a callmaker, I know, I'm going receive a quality call....
I was quite pleased with the calls, I received from Buster.
Fit & finish are good...The sounds, he putting in these calls have such realism, it just blow me away...
For those in the market for a quality friction call, contact Buster....I highly, recommend them...

Who's Larry?
All I know is that Buster is a good fella...patiently waiting. :gobble:
I agree with everything said above. Larry is a super nice guy and he makes some fine pots at a very fair price. If you dont have one pick up one or three.
Guys I appreciate the kind words. I am still a bit amazed at the response to my calls. I would've let them go sooner if I had thought folks would really like them. For you guys that have them I sure hope the birds like them this year. Just do me a favor and stay away from north MS...and southeast kansas... and east tennessee... and...

Well you dont have to worry about me. I barely ever leave PA. Although I might swing down to NC for a day or 2.

Larry's pot calls are players. Their looks are right up there also. I can see the Osage glass over slate seeing a lot of vest time this spring.

Great choices Zumer. Larry's calls are top shelf.
Buster's Osage glass over slate will be in my vest next weekend for youth day, great call. I hope to get another if he gets some available.
I love pot calls, what is current wait time for one of his calls? Also, do you guys recommend the glass or slate the most?

His turnaround time has been very quick, within 2 weeks, of ordering for all calls I've gotten from him. I haven't tried his slate but really like his glass over slate and glass over aluminum
For you guys that like slate as a playing surface you'll need to get Larry's red slate in a Persimmon pot. It is killer!! One of the best slates you'll ever hear.

Thanks for the info!!
Ok guys I really appreciate all the positive words. Right now you can figure waiting a week or so before I can get a call on it's way to you. That being said I have other responsibilities as well. I work full time for the Ag. Research Service and I pastor a small Baptist church. I do my best to stay caught up and intend to keep it that way. The response has really been tremendous to my calls and I dont have the words to express my thanks to all who have bought calls and then bought more calls and called their buddies who have bought calls.....
I take very seriously the fact that a man has high expectations when a call is ordered and I do my very best to meet those expectations. Our youth season starts here on the 8th and the regular season starts the 15th and I have a 10 year old who expects his daddy to take him hunting as much as possible. It is a fact that the wait will be a bit longer when season opens but I will do all I can to get calls out as quickly as possible. Thank you all again.

How many calls does one man need?
Just one more as Larry from Midway USA would say. LOL!
More to come for sure. I'm just getting started.

Ive got a second red slate on the way from him. I have 2 slates , 2 glass and a crystal already. Killed a 3 year old with the red a week ago. I would hunt any of his pots. In my opinion they are pure meat calls.

Just got 2 more pots from Buster, a red slate/persimmon and green slate/canary and these are both fantastic! They will be riding from Alabama to Texas in the morning. If you don't have these or his Osage glass/slate I would seriously think about ordering them.
Thanks for recommending these combos guys!

You picked up some fine pots!!! Lots of luck with them. I'll be toting a few around too. Cant wait to get them to the woods!

Just got my second red slate in persimmon today. This one is over slate. Actually like it a little more than over glass. I did kill my first bird with the red over glass. Cant go wrong with any of his red slate combos imho. Both are very very realistic.

That they are. Now you need the aluminum soundboard.
I'll be ordering more calls from Buster for sure.

Buster told me up front that you cannot really tell the difference between the glass and the aluminum. He told me either glass or aluminum and slate would give you 2 different hens.
How can u get in touch with buster
I asked Larry to make me a Persimmon red slate over a wood soundboard. The call arrived today and it is outstanding. I also have his red slate over glass and this one may be even better.
No matter which call you get from Larry you'll be extremely pleased it.

Thats hard to believe!!
His red slate/glass is a very impressive call.
Jeff guess you'll need to order one to find out for yourself. Yes this is a subliminal message. LOL
That subliminal message is working Lou!!
Does Larry have a Facebook page or website
I don't like this thread being out there, now the secret is out :-\

No joke. Thanks for the heads up buddy. As far as realism , this call has it absolutely.

I have all 3. All sound great. The aluminum does have a different sound just closer to the glass soundboard than the slate. I like all 3. I'll let the birds decide which they like best. I'm going to need a back pack just to carry Busters pots pretty soon.

Tom,
You can just set them around you like a drum kit....a striker in each hand and lean how to hold a striker between your toes.
You sound like a turkey brothel on a Saturday night!!!

I like that idea. I certainly have enough strikers for in between a few toes and fingers. Maybe even one for in my mouth too.

Larry's calls are the real deal! He built me a green slate over glass in a persimmon pot that sounds and runs like a scalded dog unbelievable realism in tone and finish
Put Busters red slate to work this morning.
Here are the results. 22.2lb, 1" spurs, 9" beard. Was a great day in the turkey woods!!!
Thanks a mil Buster!!!!(https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20190430/aefba0f0101ce3c3a2219fc139028b99.jpg)
