Title: Bino harness
Post by: longspur on February 21, 2019, 07:37:40 PM
You guys really helped me out with the binos. Now which harness do you like? And is there any danger of it being in the way of your bow?

Rick Young harness is the most lightweight and very comfortable. I've also used crooked horns without the pouch for several years.

After researching a lot of the more popular options, I went with the Marsupial Gear brand. Like anything else, it comes down to personal preference, but I particularly like the way the magnet and pouch lid lock down, and the overall product quality is fantastic.

I agree those are nice and i've got a setup similar to this , i don't use anymore because it more weight and another hot item to wear .. good luck with your new rig .... for turkey hunting all you need are a compact pair binoculars ...

I have a Rick young's And a Marsupial  gear harness. If it does not rain or you do not hunt in the rain the Rick young's is great.  If you have rain/snow the Marsupial really shines.  You won't pull up your nockers and see nothing but water splotches. You can also have the option of covering or leaving open your harness.

Your harness should not effect your vest as long as you clip your chest strap under your harness

If I use the harness, I put mine on and then the vest over the harness

x2. Seriously just a game changing piece of equipment for me. I take that thing with me for almost any outdoor recreating.

I've got an Outdoor Vision that I love. Had a Horn Hunter that isn't bad at all, but the OV is great. Pretty similar to the Marsupial from what I can tell.

If you are not looking to encapsulate your binoculars I really like the Crooked Horn Outfitters. I have a pair of 10x22x50 Nikon Action binoculars on them and they are very comfortable. Never used them bow hunting though so I can't comment there.

Alaska Guide Creations Alaska Classic. Has some extra pockets on it. I can carry all I need with it. Eliminating the vest this year.

I use the badlands bino pouch.  Its super comfortable and has a magnet that closes it.  There are many great versions out there though.  I like the alaskan guide creations as well.
