What type of sight do you use on your turkey gun?
A. Front Bead
B. Rifle Sights (front & back)
C. Reflex/Red Dot
D. Scope
D. Scope
I like many started with bead. Then went to fiber optics. Then with awesome chokes super tight shot. Scope helps center the shot. When your gun doesn't shoot true POA, you need to get it dialed in.
At first I didn't like the scope, but it has grown on me.
Scope, Burris fast fire 3 on most of my turkey guns.

D for me, old eyes aren't as good as they use to be.
B on four of them and A on my double bbl and 870
C and B. Red dot on primary gun. Rifle sights on backup.
B. Dead Ringer beard buster sights
A. Brass Front bead
C for me. Red dot

C Old eyes and tight chokes are a bad combination for a bead sight!
Dead ringer or FF2
Scopes on both my guns
Reflex I wouldn't even think of a shotgun as a "turkey gun" without it

A. I have set another one up with a scope I may try this year.
C. I like holographic sights
Truglo gobble dot pro- rifle sight
A Front Bead
C.
Truglo gobble dot. Fiber optics full windage and elevation all steel. NO Batteries
C
Started 40+ years ago with single bead then along with screw in chokes dedicated Turkey guns came with double bead's. As ammunition and chokes got better dedicated Turkey gun was equipped with rifle type fiber optic sights. Now my current setup wears a Leupold Delta Point Pro.

D. With advaned loads and chokes , creating ultra tight patterns and shotguns shooting like rifles , scopes fit the bill nicely.
C
D
C. Vortex Venom Red Dot
C
It's always been bead for me but I'm starting to think about a red dot of some sort. I just hate relying on a battery...
A. front bead. I did buy a magnetic, bright chartreuse, temporary front sight.
C.
I like an old skool (relatively) 30mm tube red dot.
Williams Sluggers with a ghost ring.
C.
C
C. on my primary gun
A. on my secondary gun
Jim
C. As I am getting older, the red dots sure do help.
Red dot(TRS-25) on my primary.
Bead sights on the back up(s).
C
Fast fire 3
A. Front bead. I hunt with an older Ithaca 37 20 ga. With the larger front ( Orange/Red ) raybar sight.
I do have a Winchester mod. 37 20 ga. That I bought new in 1964 while I was in high school.
It shoots an excellent pattern with Federal HW#7s. I would like to use it on occasion
however, the front bead is a little small for my aging eyes.
I would welcome suggestions for any , ( Brand and/or type of replacement sights ) that could be used , yet remain removable, for the day I pass it on to someone. The Ithaca is nice and light in weight but, the little Winchester is even more so, and it brings back so many memories of days in the field hunting rabbit, squirrel and an occasional ruffed grouse. Thanks
Answer is "D"
Been using a scope 25 years, wouldn't have a turkey gun without it.

Front Bead. It thinking of trying a FF3...
A. Front Bead No need to waste money unless your poi is off
A and B if I need an adjustment. My kids gun has a red dot
Rifle sights. I can't get lucky enough to get a gun that's dead on with a bead.
C
B. Fiber optic. I've hunted with a scope on my turkey gun couple times but always wound up taking it off.
D for now. But changing to C.
ff3 hands down for these aging eyes
B
D. Nikon Turkey Pro... Probably will jinx myself, but one shot and one kill ever since going that route 8 or 10 years ago..
I prefer double beads but have rifle sight on my 20 to dial in poi to poa, my 12 is spot on with beads!

Shooting A.
Just ordered B.
Wanting a C. just not ready to commit to one yet.
Have always just used A but would like to try C one day soon.
D. Through the years made the transition from bead to optics to scope. Took some getting used to for a guy that shot thousands of rounds a year using beads.
A for now but looking at a set of Williams universal slugger firesight with ghost ring.
B and D currently. Used both A and C previously, but neither of my two favorite guns shoot to point of aim with the bead, and my astigmatism has gotten worse so i went to a scope from red dots. I even have a hard time lining up the open sights anymore, so a trip to the optometrist is in my near future. Ah to be young again, lol!
Burris red dot is the only way to go.
Age has push me to a scope but still like the no worry bead. :smiley-patriotic-flagwaver-an
A: Front Bead. I like to keep it classy. Until my eyes fail or I need a reason to spend more dollars then I plan on sticking with it. :fud:
B
I had always used a bead until last year. I put a red dot on my son's gun a few years ago and liked it. Last year, I put a FF3 on mine and love it.
I wouldn't want rifle sites or a scope because of limiting the ability to make a quick instinctive follow up shot.

I get what you are saying , but you are not limited with a scope. In actuality I have not had to do follow ups in a very very long time thanks to a scope. The turkey scopes even help range your bird if you use it correctly. No downside in a scope or red dot IMHO.
Killed a bunch of birds with A-my 26" 870 12 gauge. It was dead on with three different chokes for three different loads I used in it. Just no reason to make it complicated.
Now shoot a ghost ring (B) on my SA450 and so far it has not let me down.
I did shoot a red dot (C) for a couple of years on my Benelli Nova because the POA was a PIA. I gave that gun away to a guy that lost all his guns in a house fire. I recommended he sell it and get a different gun if he ever wanted to use it for turkeys.
C on the 12ga 1300
D on the 12ga 870 and the 20ga SA-459
Old eyes need all the help I can give them.
B.
Next gun will have a Burris Fast Fire or similar.
I may add a sight to my gun but would want something easy to take on/off and re-sight in since I use my gun to shoot skeet often. Which would you recommend?
I switched to a FFIII last year and really like it!
B
A
Had a Bushnell 1.75/4. Removed it this year, trying the Sig Sauer Romeo. It will clip on and off the rail if you're looking for that option.
C red dot/multiple reticle scope
D for me, I prefer a scope as it keeps me from lifting my head and shooting high. Also, you can adjust your poi to be perfect. Lastly, a scope does not need batteries like a red dot
C Vortex Venom
Thanks for all the feedback guys. Here's the compiled results so far. People seem to favor red dot/reflex sights but everything else was pretty much equal.
A. Bead 14
B. Rifle Sights 15
C. Red dot/Reflex 28
D. Scope 14
C for me. Truglo Gobble Stopper red/green dot.
A
B.
Currently rolling with B. Have used an FF3 in the past, but my current gun had rifle sights on it when I got it, and it shoots dead on...works for me.

B. I do want to try a fastfire one day though.
A. Fiber-optic bead
I'm generally a gadget / tech guy. I ventured into the world of red dots just for the purposes of a new or better toy, not any real perceived need for a better sight. I'm on my 2nd red dot, currently a Burris Fastfire 3. After several years the newness of the "toy" has worn off. I'm tired of worrying about the battery and dealing with turning the sight on and off. I've also got the protective frame, so I have to take heavier gloves off to push the button. At this point rifle sights or a low powered scope is seeming like a wiser choice.
I use a plain ol' front bead. I shoot an old (my Grandpa's gun) Winchester Model 1200 with a full choke barrel and I inherited it with the remnants of an old red-colored front bead. I have since had to have it replaced with a common "BB" front sight.
reflex sight
Has been a Hi-Viz Fiber Optic site but my eyes are not what they once were so I am going to try a scope this year.
Have always shot bead. Going to try rifle sights this year. B
still shooting the bead this year, was thinking hard about getting a speed bead
Rifle sights. I can still hit a penny at 40 yards with a 22. Working on 39 years old. Probably be using cheaters next week for bragging. lol
C
I use Red Dot and Scope. Really helps with tight patterns and old age eyes.
C. Vortex Venom
Just ordered B to fix my POI, wanted a Burris FF3 but didnt want to drill/tap my new gun.
Burris FF3 for me.
2 scopes and one red dot... scopes is my preference
red dot
c, red dot. I don't like to miss
C. red dot reflex
I just use the factory dual bead setup. No problems for about 18 years and about 25 birds have took a quick nap.
Rifle sights on one and a scope on another - both work well but with the tighter patterns the scope is beginning to work out better.
Updating my previous post... My new loads are just a tad bit off, and the hi-viz rifle sights that I have, though they are made to adjust, will not. I've done everything to try and rectify it, as have a couple of others. They just won't do it. I can adjust windage, but not elevation. So, I bought a Vortex Spitfire. I have an astigmatism, and red dots can get washed out and streaky/blurry in some lighting, regardless of whether I am inside or outside. The prismatic sight helps this. Another thing that I like about it is that the sighting is etched into the glass, so even if I don't have the red or green illumination turned on, it's still there. It's a little bulkier than I am used to, or have ever used, but I already like it and I think I am going to like it a lot once I get more accustomed to it.
I'd consider it a hybrid C/D since it has etched glass not requiring it to be powered by the battery.
B
I prefer a fastfire 3, the but venoms are very nice as well.
B. love my Williams Fire Sights on the 870
Went a scope a couple of years ago. For most of my turkey hunting it was a bead or some type of fiber optic sights. So far it hasn't been a hard adjustment as I've shot scopes on deer rifles for 30 years.
Have used them all, have guns with each but a gun that shoots beads is harder for me to mess up or have problems with and what I prefer.
"D" Prefer a little magnification with a sight.
A) Never had any issue so never changed.
Vortex Sparc II red dot. My first red dot scope ever. Bought it two years ago. Before that was always open sights. Works great. I love it.
A for right now would like try a red dot though

Red dot on main gun and bead on backup.
Double bead for now. Thinking about going to a red dot.
D. scope, I found with just a bead I sometimes in the excitement wouldn't keep my head down on the stock and shoot over a tom.
Scope- Because I need it.
Aimpoint 9000SC
Scope
I switched to Trijicon Dual Illumination RMR green dots
