Title: Leather strap for turkey carry
Post by: greencop01 on February 06, 2019, 10:18:46 AM
I was wondering about a leather strap (padded or unpadded) for carrying out a turkey. I have one but you need a hand to hold it. I was looking for a hands free strap. Anybody know where one can find one ? Hands free is the way to go if you have a ways to go. Thanks for the help.

There are a few guys on here that make them, mostly out of paracord, but leather could perhaps be braided the same way. You'll find a couple pics on the classifieds here.

You can make one yourself out of an old leather belt.  Really easy to do!

I use a universal shotgun sling that has slip loops on each end.

I make a simple tote similar to others that have been around for quiet some time. It is designed to be carried in multiple configurations and rolls up to approximately the size of a pot call for easy storage. Double loops on the end allow you to place both loops over the head of your bird for an over the shoulder carry, keeping the wings nicely tucked away. The two loops also allow for you to carry your bird out in an over the neck/hands free type carry by placing one loop over the head and the feet through the other. Toss him over your neck and your ready for a nice walk out. I'd imagine many other ways are possible as well.
I enjoy using it just for the simplicity and ease of storaging away without taking up much space. I'll work on getting pics posted.
