Title: Vest modifications?
Post by: kytrkyhntr on February 04, 2019, 08:16:37 PM
I recently found some quake claw gun slings on sale and purchased two of them with the idea of sewing them in my vest as shoulder straps similar to the Dixon vest. Has anyone done that before or tried and other major vest mods? If you have done it let me know what you thought of it I'd like some opinions before I make the big change! Thanks

It's only thread and fabric, if you don't like it change  it back. The shoulder straps on the Dixon vest I had were really comfortable, only thing they were not adjustable. I've had someone  modify  most of my vests over the years I hate the plastic buckles that click together, and zippers or Velcro don't belong on my vest, I prefer buttons. It's not much to add or move pockets. For some reason Chinese people think a box call should be on the front of the vest were it can get all in the way. I settled on an old vest that was already built right , in the US

I found an old Greenleaf vest made by liberty. It has plenty of pockets in the right places and doesn't weigh much. I added foam to the seat cusion but everything else was good.
