I'm looking at the truglo pro series magnum gobble dot adjustable sight for my 870. They are listed to fit a 1/4" rib so I measured the rib on my 870 and it's measuring .290". I'm a machinist so of course I measure with micrometers, lol. I'm thinking most people measure with a tape and it probably measures 1/4" and I'm sure truglo knows the rib is not 1/4". Or maybe they are and I have an oddball, because that would be my luck. Anyone else have an 870 and did you order the 1/4 model? I just want to be sure before I drop $50 on some sights.
I have the TruGlo Pro Series Magnum Gobble Dot sights on my Remington 11-87 12ga and it made a big difference. My center of shot was off a little so I was able to adjust it like a rifle to my point of aim. I'm not sure which size measurement I got, but I did get the one for Remington listed on the back of the package. I didn't have a problem securely mounting it and have not had a problem with it coming loose. I think you'll like it.
I have 5 870s at my house and have 4 of these on them. (one is for wing shooting) The Remington models have always fit just fine. Best turkey sight made imho.
Thanks fellas. My main turkey gun is scopped and I've been fixing up a rainy day gun. I have no problem using the bead but the poa/poi don't exactly mesh and I don't want to have to rely on Kentucky windage.
I think mine came with a rubber shim to tighten things up just right. They are great sights if you poa,and poi are off
Ditch the TruGlo sights and get the Williams Universal Slugger FireSights.
