Title: Season's over and no upgrade
Post by: coon on April 26, 2011, 10:24:14 AM
Well, my season is officially over. I went to Texas the past two weekends and killed 3 birds, but unfortunately none of them were better than my first. I ended up taking 2 longbeards and a jake. I missed another longbeard and almost killed a different longbeard but a group of jakes ran him off just as i was about to pull the trigger. Jakes ruined alot of my hunts, so i took my frustration out on one of them. This past weekend, me and a couple of buddies killed 7 total. It was practically one guys 1st real turkey hunt and he ended up taking 2 jakes and was thrilled about it, so that was all worth it. Anyway, I had a great season and I hate it's come to an end but I guess I've got bow season to look forward to in 5 months. Below are a few pics from the weekend. Also, good luck to the rest of the team for the rest of yalls seasons. Hope everybody does great and mashes plenty of birds.
Bird #1: 9.5" beard, 3/4" spurs, and 15lb 5oz.
Bird #2: 7 5/8" beard, 1" and 1 1/16" spurs, 18lb 1oz. (shot some of his beard off)

I leave the black snakes, corn snakes, green snakes, red bellies, and king snakes alone, but a damn rattler - glad you nailed him first!
