Cocobolo in general is so beautiful, I buffed the shine off of it before putting another coat on and it looks awesome in satin too. If a guy wanted it with no sheen it would look great too.
The cocobola is outstanding.
How long will it last before it starts turning dark ??

If you keep it wrapped up in something, it'll probably stay like that for a long time.

Yeah, it will darken slightly over time(keeping light off of it slows down the process), but I think Cocobolo looks great as it darkens anyway.
I have Cocobolo in the shop that has not changed color much at all in 7-8 years, it was re-sawn into guitar backs & is still unfinished.
I've seen some really exotic looking, neat looking colors in Cocobola
Being oily wood I would think it would change in colors to , towards darkness in a short time frame
BECOUSE of the oils

You are right, no doubt it will tend to darken over time......here is a Cocobolo guitar I built years ago, between re-sawing the billet, storing the wood, building the guitar, and finishing it, there was 2 years on this Cocobolo in open air and it still looked pretty vibrant.

Thanks, those things were a pain to build....lol
Here is the Cocobolo after I took the sheen off tonight, easy enough to make her shiny again if that is what is preferred.

Gergg, you are obviously a very talented individual! That guitar is freaking awesome! The trumpets have a very classic look as well!

Thank you very much Jbird22.....My guitar building days are mostly behind me(family requests still exist). They were a royal pain in the butt to build, but that first strum was worth the effort. I have now turned my passion/energy toward trumpets, they are very much musical instruments and I just love to experiment and figure things out, so getting them "right" is what I am finding enjoyable right now.
You are a truly talented guy Gergg! Beautiful wood on your trumpets and the guitar is just plan sick!
