Title: Embarrassing Turkey Question
Post by: aclawrence on October 20, 2018, 04:01:25 PM
Hey guys I've seen a ton of turkeys this last week while driving around and they all look like hens. How big are the poults by this time of year?  Would the babies from spring be close to full size by now.  I feel like I should know this but I guess I don't lol.

Depending on their hatch date. Most poults will appear as premature adults by this time of the year.

yes a lot of them will look like adult hens, but comparatively they are still smaller. At a distance they will look very similar. The poults have predominately blue heads.

Ok a lot of them have had blue heads. Was hoping that there were a lot of young birds in the woods.
