Title: Padauk glass over slate
Post by: Gobbler2577 on July 20, 2018, 11:43:27 AM
So, a little over four years ago I decided I was going to learn to build pot calls.  I started building Cost style boxes in '99 and more than anything just wanted a change of pace. Little did I know how slow I would learn and how quickly I would become obsessed.  Between '99 and 2014 every bird I killed was called with a box I built.  I was never a pot guy.  But that quickly changed.  With the exception of one Nebraska turkey I haven't used a box to kill a bird since. I had some success building pots early, but I had a LOT more failures than successes.  I suppose you could say I have learned really well how not to build a pot call.  About 2 years ago I finally began to build a decent call consistently but am always trying to learn more.  I thought I'd post a few here and see what kind of feedback I get.  If you think it's bad say so, but at least be constructive and say why it's bad.  Thanks for the time.

Have you ever been to Mississippi in July?  The heat and mosquitos were killing me.

No it's grey slate.  I've not found any 3" green.
