We all know paul platz , clint corder , brad roberts , lonnie mabrey and the list goes on. I want people to list lesser known pot call makers whom you have a pot or few from that you would not part with. I have a 2 sided slate in mineral poplar from olin humphries that has a permenant home here. I know several of you know olin , but he makes a great pot and his name is not well known. Say what say you?
Sorry , i just realised that i posted in wrong place. Oh well , post anyway lol.
Paul Meeks, Morton MS.
Paul Durham.
This man will get the credit he deserves as one of the great pot call(and other call) makers here soon. I have a slate in a Mahoe pot from him that is unmatched.
Strut zone game calls and misfire turkey calls are both awesome and dont plan on ever parting with.

Footballer Mark Cunningham and Chris Brumfiel. Both of their calls replaced Dave Hollaran and Hank's. And Footballer's Paduak Slate has its own pocket. Unreal. So - I came to this site to find Hal to do TSS magic and got two of my favorite new calls.

I got 3 of Mark Cunningham's slates and I love each one of them...also TJ Johnson..crystal/slate in a walnut pot...killer call
Strut zone game calls
I have a couple coming from mark. Haven't got them in my hand yet so i could not judge yet.
Andy Kaiser, Stumpy, Doug Morgan, Chad Helms and I have a couple of older Larry Bean and Southland's that are good.

This and not just because they make great calls, each took a chance on me paying them when I said I would as well as Mac Calls, ChainReactionGC, Spring Creek Calls and Stumpy and they have all helped me delve into the custom call realm and I am grateful for it. I have gotten a call from each of them except Chris and that is in the work for next month, Stumpy and Spring Creek Calls and the last two were just paid today but from what I have seen and heard from each I know I will be satisfied. Also they have all been very polite to me, helped me understand a few things better and worked with me to help me get a call I truly have/will enjoy/ed. I am grateful to each of them and can't wait to get my first trumpet from Chris. It is not just about the product, it is about the customer service.
Marc Cornelius, Gregg Guthridge and TJ Johnson

Jack Mincey from NC - definitely a master woodworker and call maker. His slate pots are excellent.
Wynee slate, Yingling copper and crystals , Stumpy ceramic, Howard slate and Humphries slate are all excellent calls from great callmakers.
Agree with Brantleyville on Andy Kaiser and Doug Morgan. I'd also add Mark Cunningham aka Footballer (as others have said) and a local guy "Hoss" Simmons to the list. Hoss used to have some calls in Midwest Turkey Call under "Double S" calls best I recall.
Eddie Wynne, Roger Parks, Mark Cornelius, Dustin Jones, Mark Cunningham Footballer, David Loftis and Chad Hutchinson Stumpy.
I will mention Gary Taylor...Stone Road Turkey Calls. He use to be a regular here, but haven't seen him around for awhile. I have a Cherry /slate that goes on every hunt with me and a Spalted Maple that has become a shelf queen. Nothing special about either one except that they are completely full of turkey.
Tim Cosby
I've got a crystal call from footondahead by Drew Able. It's easily my best sounding, most reliable call.
Andy Kaiser makes a heck of a good sounding pot. Stumpy makes the best ceramic I've ever heard or played!! Both of theses call makers are right there at the top with all the other higher call makers in my opinion.

You must have took my recommendation Dustin builds a great call!
Kind of like Halloran, Lyle at houndstooth builds set calls in set configs not make to order custom per say but you can't sleep on the quality of them. I had a cherry ceramic that was down right unfair in the woods. I broke that call but I have yet to find a ceramic that was as sweet as that one I simply need to just buy another.

DAVE TYREE from Missouri
Mac Calls - Mark Cornelius
Black stone - Dustin Jones
High Class Calls - Matt VanCise
McLaughlin Turkey Calls - Mark McLaughlin
Al Hobart Enticer Turkey Calls, a guy that is excited about his calls. I have two of his a Silver Fox and a corion aluminum. Thay are hunted every year for over ten years and I will not part with them, killer pots. They tickle gobbler ears! :OGturkeyhead:
+1,fully agree. He is extremely underrated and what you get for a very reasonable price can easily compete with call makers that have a 2+ year wait list
Nathan Taylor (WVLimbhanger) y'all might not have known he makes calls.
Joe Vance. Doubt any of you have heard of him.
Both fine West Virginia call makers.
Pictures to follow soon.
Just throwing in a 2nd on West Augusta's WV picks. Specifically, Mr. Joe Vance's glass and AL calls. They really rock the woods and work extremely well (with right striker) in a pouring rain. VERY handy to have. And at a very, very reasonable price point too! Way less $ than the bigger names, little to no wait and the birds love them! One of them is in my pocket most days when the bigger names stay home. But I am just an old WV turkey hunter so factor in the home prejudice any way you want...(shameless WV homeboy promotion..LOL! But his calls are freakin' killers)
West Augusta I appreciate the kind words and mention in this post. I'm humbled for sure.
We need to add footballer. Marks calls are consistant , easy to play and full of turkey.
Harold Shields at Tuscarora Legend. I've owned his slate and glass pot calls for 20 years, and they're always in the line up. One of the first guys to use aluminum, I still have that one.
