Title: Benelli M2
Post by: Crossplains on June 28, 2018, 03:37:06 PM
I had this posted in the wrong section, so i am moving it here for advice

I am currently shooting a Benelli Field M2, with hevi shot crio choke. The pattern is decent, but i want better.    I am looking to improve my gun by adding a burris speed bead and a new choke.  I am sitting on a ton of Magnum Blend that i acquired at a steal, so i am wondering if someone can point me in the right direction for the best choke for this combination of gun and ammo.  I tried to search on here myself for the answer, but clearly i am missing the right combination of words

I'm using an Indian Creek tube in my M2 (.665, I think) with H13 3/2/6s and 3/2/7s interchangeably.  I could probably squeeze out a little more performance, but this combo should handle 99.9999% of my needs, as is.

I shot a Kicks GT .660 with Longbeard #6's  for a while that was a good combo for me  until some boys talked me into a Sumtoy .650 with hevi-13 #6's and #7's and I'll be staying with this combo.

I think you'll see better results with a .650 choke. The SSX in .650 would be another good choice https://allaboutshooting.com/products/ssx-12-gauge-beretta-optima?variant=6869922709537 it's a value that makes the investment worthwhile.

Thanks,

I've shot amazingly tight patterns with a Sumtoy .650 and the 3" magblends from my crio choked 28" barrel vinci. I have also tried a .655 Rob Roberts with them and it was a little more open, something around the mid to upper 160's count in the 10" at 40 yrds. The Sumtoy put up 200+ in the 10" at 40yrds with the 3" magblends, very tight pattern, will want to use sights or optic with that combo!

The Sumtoy .650 seems to be the way to go and was also suggested by William.  I am planning to put the speed bead combo on it with a Fast Fire 3 as well.  I plan on posting some comparisions when i get everything together
