Title: Joining the O/U crowd
Post by: wvlimbhanger on June 25, 2018, 09:58:53 PM
This past spring while hunting Ohio I shot a bird at 22 yards that started flopping and rolling around.....something that just doesn't happen with my set up.  I film my hunts so when I watched the replay it was evident the bird moved as I was pulling the trigger and the edge of my pattern barely caught him.  I started daydreaming of on O/U setup to use an open choke for under 30 yard work at the flip of a switch.  I just picked up a tristar hunter mag.....just need a vortex mounted to it, a sumtoy choke, and a tarjac dipping and it will be ready for action.

Looks like a good gun and you have some nice toys there to go along with it.

Good luck, hope it works out for you!  I just purchased an O/U as well and ordered choke tubes from Trulock, and have same plan. Curious to shoot and pattern gun to see how point of aim and impact change from barrel to barrel, before I send it off for camo dipping or invest anything additional in optics, etc. Keep us posted, I'm anxious to hear how it goes and good luck!

you can put our mount on or the burris 336 on the rib of the gun.

William, I actually picked up your mount from a fella that didn't like his fast fire.  So I'm good to go on the mount.

I'll let you fellas know how it shoots when I have it set up.

Welcome to the O/U club and good luck with your setup. Sure enjoyed my 20 gauge O/U this year.
