Title: What over and under?
Post by: Rem Man on June 15, 2018, 12:45:14 PM
Hey guys looking to purchase an over and under 12 gauge but  don't want to spend $1200 or more. I was looking at the camo tristar hunter magnum and the cz reaper. Any recommendations would be appreciated. Thanks!

Can look for a used Tradition camo O/U or if you can find a used Browning Cynergy camo model.

I am not sure what the Cynergy will sell for but is a fine gun. A buddy carried one for a couple of years then traded it last fall.

Was a fine gun, 28" barrels I believe but was short due to being a double.

I would look for a used quality gun. Cheap doubles either O/U or SxS have can have terrible barrel regulation.

I set up my ATI Cavalry 20 gauge grouse gun this year for turkey. POA, POI were right on and what a pleasure to carry at just over 5 lbs. Hard to imagine the 12 gauge would be much over 6 lbs. Also liked loading/unloading the break open compared to my pump gun.(https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20180616/9102a0e8eb9ee0eec8a9a1a1a626ab79.jpg)

What are you using it for?  Turkey would be different than skeet, which would be different than trap. Or are you just interested in one for all around use?

Mainly turkey hunting, but may use a little for small game.
