Title: Older Lynch
Post by: Upfold99 on June 04, 2018, 07:52:13 PM
Any ideas on value? I grabbed it from a box of my great grand dads about 20 years ago.(https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20180604/9c0f3752c86b5ab418fe630a54258ca8.jpg)(https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20180604/8a4ca2ccb9933b9bbedf123cf0547c77.jpg)

I have my grandfathers that he bought from ML Lynch after WWII.  Apparently ML Lynch was driving around the south selling the calls out of the trunk of his car and my grandfather bought one in his hometown on Stamps, AR.  It is the 12 hole with grooved sides, always thought it was valued around $800-1000.

If a collector knows more I'd love to learn more about it.

I think you are correct with the price for a 12 hole with grooved sides.

Current market for a call like yours is $350 - $450-ish unless it's a spotless example.  Then add another $100 - $150.

Regardless of a monetary value assignment, you have a super great piece of turkey hunting and turkey call history on your hands, as well as a family heirloom.   CONGRATS !!!

I have my wife's grandfather's Lynch Model 102 World Champion made in 1958 in Liberty, MS.  Three holes in the top.  What's it worth?  Thanks for any replies.

If it says made in Liberty, MS  it was made post 1970 when ML Lynch sold the company to Allen Jenkins, who moved production to Mississippi. Only the calls stamped made in either Homewood or Birmingham have any collector interest in my opinion.

Nice keepsake, but no real monetary value. Keep it as an heirloom and hunt with it if desired. There are many thousands of Lynch/ Jenkins calls out there.

Thanks for the info. Mr. Jenkins and I have yet to get together and discuss the call.

I did notice the extra holes but had no clue they were for valve stems.

The prices recently on the rarest of Old Lynch calls is amazing. This smooth sided caller fits in that bunch among the rarest. Not a Miss Polly however darn near as rare. PRICELESS!!!!!  INSURANCE VALUE $2200 -2700 WITH NO DOUBT......and probably more. Contact Mike Battey as he does appraisals.

I count 13 holes, not just 12. you need to also included the hole that has the tuning piece inserted
I would call that caller "Ole Lucky 13". Never did hear of a 13 hole.

North of 8 you are right. However, there appears to be no evidence online of a 13 hole. Hopefully Mr. Jenkins can enlighten me.

Thankyou all for the posted comments and info.

Online IS NOT THE TOTAL OR ONLY SOURCE

The call is a 12 hole, pre turkey in the pines (1940's) with walnut base and lid with mahogany sides.

However this one does have 13 holes, which was probably a mistake. Mr. Lynch threw nothing away and most likely just used the lid any way. Since Mr. Lynch kept everything there can be slight differences in calls made pre 1958. This explains the lid. Some calls did have valve stems and they were placed under the lid by the tuning screw.

Thank you all for the comments.
