On sunday i saw a gobbler with 4 hens and he wouldn't leave them for anything. He gobbled at every call i made. I would say most hens will be on nests shortly, when that happens it will be a great time to call one in up here. They seem a little behind breeding this year, normally most hens would have been on nests by now.

I spooked a hen off a nest in SEMI on Monday the 14th.  13 eggs in the nest and it looked one of them had hatched already.  Hunted 12 hours on public land that day and struck one gobbler.  Never saw him but had him gobbling for about an hour in late afternoon.  Filled my tag on Wednesday afternoon an hour after I got set up.  Seeing lots of birds in the fields around here.  Wish I could say my public land was hot and heavy but that would be overstating it a bit.
