Had a great start to the season this year. My son shot a nice gobbler and then a week later I was able to get 1 of my own. I bought the second tag so I'm still in it but man am I struggling. Haven't heard a bird gobble in a long time!! Oh well I got some time left. Excuse the selfy I thought I was being funny and it's only 1 of 2 pics of my bird. Man I love turkey hunting !!! Good luck everyone!!

Not here they arent. One farm I hunt has no fewer than 6 mature gobblers, at least that many 2 year olds and 8-10 jakes. The problem is there are at least 25-30 hens. They'll gobble their fool heads off on the roost but once they hit the ground they get quieter than a deaf mute in a library. If you can work them the hens just WILL NOT allow another "hen" to the party and will sprint to the gobblers, cackling and cutting and once with the fellas, will take them straight away from the interloper as fast as they can. I have not seen a single gobbler alone all season. Every longbeard has no less than 3 hens with him and these chicks just don't seem to wana go to nest until well after noon. I haven't been after be to hunt the afternoon yet, but my trail cams still show quite after be few hens with gobblers in tow. This is without doubt the most jacked up season I can remember and I've been doing this for 34 years.
Congrats

Heard north of 150 gobbles last Friday. Since then I've heard THREE. The hens up here in NW PA have snappend the gobblers lips so tight it isn't funny.
