Title: Got the Power
Post by: roosterpull on April 22, 2011, 08:20:29 PM
In recent years, I have pretty much relied on the Primos Power Crystal. I like a glass peg for the hen sounds and a hard wooden peg for aggressive gobbler purrs. Used both pegs today and got a nice Mountain Maryland bird from Dan's Mountain in Allegany County.
I thought it was a great way to celebrate Earth Day and Good Friday all at once.
I still carry my Roger Latham box call and use it a little. Roger of course was the outdoor editorat the Pittsburgh Press from 1957 to 1979 and a legend in the world of words and turkeys.

I have a primos power crystal as well, it sounds as good or better than many custom calls.. I noticed you said a glass peg, do you have a glass peg or is that a misprint.... hardwood peg is what I have for yelping, cutting, and purring... a good call!!!

Yes, Doepee, I uses a glass peg at times. The sound that results is a good one.

Never heard of a glass peg before... Where did you find one of those?  I'm familiar with clear acrylic..
