Title: Mid May in Wisco
Post by: ogreknux on May 06, 2018, 11:57:29 AM
Just curious, anyone know what the bird activity looks like in north central wisconsin? I have 2 week 4 tags for zone 3, but haven't really heard much for reports since the middle of week 2. I guess I'm just curious if the birds are still "behind schedule", as I will only have about 3 days to hunt.

Tell you what, the group of toms I was hunting during week 3 have been henned up hard.  Won't leave their ladies and their ladies won't leave the middle of the field.  And all the hours I spent watching them, never saw a single hen bred. So it's not like those boys are getting any action, which is why I always thought they would eventually come check out my plastic hens at some point.  Very frustrating 4 days last week.  I am going to get in their bubble and try a mid-field set up tomorrow morning, one last-ditch effort.

Good Luck! Certainly cant hurt to try something new if nothing else seems to work.
