Title: Question for ya'll
Post by: dawgfrombama on May 02, 2018, 04:03:02 PM
I got on hot bird today and he came in quick.  I mean gobbled, flew across a ,creek and was in front of me in no time.  I didn't even have time to get properly setup.  To make a long story short he busted me. As he was running off I managed to get a shot off.  He didn't seem like he was hurt at all. As a matter of fact he took flight and landed shortly after and ran into the woods. I did find one feather on the ground where I might have grazed him.  You think it would be too early to get back after him this weekend? I know he should have forgotten this whole deal by then.  It's funny the ones you miss or screw up on are the ones you remember the most. ;D

He will be huntable If he is ok but set up in a different location. Why didnt you just let him go instead of taking a hail mary. Not bashing but was just curious. Its possible you put more shot in him than you think. Again , I am not judging you , just trying to figure out the reasoning?

If you didn't hit him, you should be fine to go after him by the weekend. I missed one completely (shot straight over him), changed position and killed him the next day. Again if it was a complete miss. If you did get shot in him, he might avoid that area for a little while
